Poster and Abstract Applications and Guidelines

Application deadline:  January 2, 2023

MAOFP is now accepting student & resident poster applications for our poster session to be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Shanty Creek Resort, Bellaire, MI. The first author must be present to display each accepted poster.

  • Student/Resident Original Research or Case Study posters may apply 
  • Submit your abstract and IRB approval (if applicable) to the submission form 
  • First author must be a member of MAOFP in good standing. If you are not a member, Residents can join for only $25 and student memberships are free.

  • No abstract application fee to MAOFP members
  • All authors’ names, titles, and e-mail addresses must accompany each abstract
  • Presentation at MAOFP does not preclude abstract submission or publication
  • Abstract limited to 350 words, not including title, authors, institutions, and references
  • Abstract submission implies authenticity of your work, and that all co-authors have been notified of this submission
  • Abstract will be forwarded to a peer review committee upon submission
  • Applicants will be notified of acceptance by Friday, January 6, 2023
  • Accepted posters should be printed and transported in a protective tube
  • Poster dimensions are recommended to be 4’ x 6’ and will be mounted on foam board via push pins at the meeting (provided by MAOFP)
  • Poster to remain on display Saturday, January 21, 2023, 8:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m 
  • First author will be assigned a time during Saturday morning to meet with the judges at their poster
  • All posters not removed by Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. will be discarded
